NYSUT Supports SUNY Trustees Disapproval of Conzatti as NCC President

We learned on Friday, Nov 14, 2025, that the SUNY Board of Trustees had voted to disapprove CAO Conzatti’s permanent appointment as President at NCC. (https://www.suny.edu/about/leadership/board-of-trustees/meetings/webcastdocs/Reso_ActingOnaProposedAppointment_November2025.pdf)

We support SUNY’s efforts to ensure that NCC has leadership that aligns with the mission of the institution to provide a quality education, and our parent union, NYSUT, immediately issued a statement supporting SUNY (https://www.nysut.org/news/2025/november/suny-trustees-statement).

The NCCFT acknowledges CAO Conzatti’s long service to the College and looks forward to working with the NCC Board of Trustees and administration to charter a new pathway forward that prioritizes service to students and the community. In that effort, we hope the NCC Board of Trustees will consider reallocating the remaining funds from CAO Conzatti’s 5-year, million-dollar-plus contract towards much-needed supports and services for the students of NCC and immediately launch a new presidential search.

Important Upcoming Event

Make your voices heard on Monday, November 17th. The Middle States VP for Institutional Relations, Kathy Feith, and the SUNY Middle States liaison, Dr. Jackie Snyder, will be on campus for a brief visit and will hold an open forum for students, faculty, and staff from 12:00 to 12:45 in the CCB multipurpose room. It is critical that everyone attend. This may be one of our most important opportunities to clearly convey the urgent need for experienced leadership and the immediate launch of a new presidential search.

Your presence and collective voices are essential to demonstrating the campus community’s commitment to meaningful change and improving the institutional climate.

Please make every effort to be there on Monday, November 17th at 12:00. This moment matters.

We will be distributing orange ribbons to wear to show support for an immediate launch of a new presidential search. Anyone can pick one up at the NCCFT office (F building 3293).  Want to be kept in the loop? Sign up for our mailing list.

  1. This is the best new that I have heard. Now maybe students can be prioritized rather than administrative staff. I only hope that the students have enough full time faculty to support their programs thus, they will have proper advisement and a better understanding of future avenues.

  2. The email from the Chair of NCC in response to the SUNY resolution is delusion. They continue to state her accomplishments which are questionable at best. While enrollment seems to have had a slight increase this is due to SUNY initiatives and by not hiring faculty and hoarding the money this is not balancing the budget. All that aside they continue to ignore the fact that she was NOT a candidate that was selected by the search committee. Therefore she is not entitled to be approved by SUNY for President. The response from the NCC Bot makes it clear they do not intend to comply with the resolution
According to the authority of the NYS education law 226 (4) the rejection of the resolution should considered as misconduct, neglect of duty and/or failure or refusal of the institution to carry into effect its educational purposes. Chair Gardyn should be removed by the BOR.
