Election Buddy in Private Emails for a Vote of No Confidence

A Vote of No Confidence is being conducted on behalf of the full-time faculty of Nassau Community College. Full-time faculty are asked to look for an email from Election Buddy and participate in the vote regarding confidence in the leadership of Nassau Community College’s Chief Administrative Officer, who was designated by the Board of Trustees as having all the powers and responsibilities of the president.

The reasons for the vote are outlined in the “Whereas” section of the Vote of No Confidence resolution. The purpose of the vote is to determine faculty support for a public declaration concerning whether the current college leadership is meeting its responsibilities to the mission of the college. The results of the vote will be shared with broader external stakeholders, including SUNY, Nassau County, and New York State leadership.

Voting begins during the weekend of May 9–10 and closes on Thursday, May 14, at midnight.

Faculty are encouraged to remind colleagues to check their private email accounts for a message from Election Buddy. Faculty who do not see an email from Election Buddy in their inbox should first check their spam, junk, and trash folders. If the email still cannot be located, they may contact the faculty email account established for this purpose at VNC2026@proton.me. Faculty who have not previously provided a private email address and wish to participate may also contact that address to submit the email they would like used for voting purposes.

The NCCFT is only providing logistical assistance to facilitate the voting process, including use of Election Buddy through its Elections and Tellers Committee and use of existing communication channels to notify faculty of the election and its results. The Vote of No Confidence itself is being conducted on behalf of the full-time faculty and is not authored or organized by the NCCFT. Election results will be maintained according to standard election protocols.
