In a light drizzle early Saturday morning the Nassau County Democrats kicked off the official start to the 2013 campaign at their campaign headquarters at 2373 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow. Nassau County Democratic legislators and many unions were in attendance, including SEIU 1199, TWU Local 252, the IBEW, CSEA along with our very own NCCFT Local 3150. A big thanks goes out to all our members who attended: Debbie DeSanto, Jim Hoyt, Carolyn Falconetti, Dawn Smith, Stephanie Sapiie, Kimberley Reiser, Robert Hodge, Frank Reiser, Valerie Lagakis, Jason Gorman, Ziaullah Khan Durrani, Tom Field, Matt Lacombe, Michael Rose, Linda Gorman, Christine Tuaillon, Carmine DeSanto, Anissa Moore, Donna Hope, Phil Nicholson.

The morning started off with a Vietnam-veteran Color Guard and Flag procession and was hosted by Kevan Abrahams (LD2) who introduced the slate of Democrats running in Nassau County. Speakers included Laura Gillen (Democratic Candidate for County-Clerk), Kathleen Rice (Incumbent and Democratic Candidate for District-Attorney), Howard Weitzman (Democratic Candidate for County Comptroller) and Tom Suozzi (Democratic Candidate for County Executive).

There is no doubt this is an important election. The Democrats’ vision for Nassau County is one that includes repairing the County’s broken finances and revitalizing the infrastructure and downtowns of Nassau County. With only 40 days until the September 10th Primary, this exuberant rally marked the start of the 2013 Campaign. NCCFT-PAC plans to be a vital part of these efforts.

Please join us for a labor-walk on August 17, 2013 as we go door-to-door with the LI Federation of Labor to support the candidates!!!
