Picketing at Nassau Community College over contract negotiations

(11/20/05) GARDEN CITY - They've been teaching without a contract since August, but now the full-time faculty at Nassau Community College is putting pressure on the administration to iron out a deal and they are doing it in a very public way.

During Open House Day at the college on Sunday, students and parents were welcomed by a picket line of college faculty. They are upset over what they call stalled contract negotiations with the college. Members of the Nassau Community College Federation of Teachers (NCCFT) say they have met 10 times with the college without hammering out a new contract.

NCCFT says its final negotiating meeting with the college is set for December 9.
